RACI to Happiness

Recently a change occurred in my life that caused me to question the source of my happiness. What I realized is tying happiness to anything other than God first and then to myself was a recipe for unhappiness.  Circumstances that make you happy can change and people who make you happy are human and prone to miss the mark.

In Corporate America there is something called a RACI chart and what it does is takes a task and assigns the people who are R (Responsible), A (Accountable) C (Consulted) and I (Informed). The person who’s responsible actually does the task and has to get it done. If you are the accountable person then you are the one who owns the task and most oversee the completion of the task.  Someone who is consulted gives their input on how the task should be handled or done, but doesn’t take any action towards completing it.  An informed person is simply someone who should be kept updated on the status of the completion of the task.  While one person can be assigned multiple roles within the RACI, when it comes to the Accountable lane only one person can play this role. In fact except for the accountable role, all other roles can be assigned to multiple people.

Last week I introduced you to the To Do List Assassin and the things in her arsenal for taking out tasks. Imagine yourself as a To Do List Assassin and you were handed the assignment below:

Pictured is a RACI chart to help identify what to do/tasks are needed to make you happy or happier and who to assign to the RACI roles.

Your assignment, if you so choose, is to complete the RACI chart above. For some it may be a simple assignment, for others (like me) it will take some thought.

Let me know in the comments if you will accept the assignment.

Until next week, go forth and be happy!
