Pebbles or Pearl Logo_FinYou’ve probably seen articles promoting drinking a daily dose of organic apple cider vinegar.  Some of the benefits of doing so are:

  1. Improved digestion
  2. Strengthen your immune system
  3. Relieves heartburn
  4. Prevent candida and normalize intestinal bacteria
  5. Helps regulate blood sugar
  6. Helps with weight loss
  7. Helps regulate blood pressure
  8. Helps detoxify your body
  9. Beneficial to skin (topical and internal)
  10. Improves energy and stamina

For me joining the ACV bandwagon wasn’t a hard one to do. My mother has used ACV to treat heartburn and upset stomach for as long as I can remember. Though she wasn’t using the organic brands, her ACV elixirs went to work and addressed my heartburn or belly ache almost immediately. While I’ve never liked the taste of ACV, add a dollop of honey, give me a straw, and down it goes.

Now here is my confession. While I’m on the bandwagon for drinking ACV, I have not committed fully to the drinking it daily. I’ve mainly been using it medicinally to treat what ails me at the time. I’ve done stretches of drinking it daily and felt some of the benefits, but let me run out of honey or straws, and the streak ends.

So today, okay well maybe not today because I don’t have any honey. So tomorrow, I am recommitting to drinking a daily dose of organic apple cider vinegar (I normally use Braggs). And because I’m curious about the benefit number 9 listed above, I will begin using it as skin tonic on my face. Below is my daily approximate mix (I no longer measure):

  • 2 tsp of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (suggest starting with 1 tsp if you haven’t tried it before)
  • 2 tsp of honey
  • 1 glass of purified water

Why not join me and at least try it until the end of this year (or you run out of honey or straws). I’ll do a follow up post and let you know how it goes for me and you can let me know if you experienced any benefits. Are you in?
