Plan N Write pic

I view finish rewrite as a separate step along the self-publishing road because I think this is where some writers fall down the writing rabbit hole. This is where doubt sets in for some. Is it good enough? Should I really publish this book? What if people hate what I’ve written?

For others this may be where they can’t stop the rewrite process and move to the next step. There is one more read through that they need to do. They become stuck in the read, rewrite cycle because they have the same fear and self-doubt that I mentioned before. If one of these scenarios fit you, don’t let doubt or fear cause you to place your book on the shelf and leave it there.

There is one more roadblock to competing your book in which you should be aware. The urge to move to the next writing project before finishing the current one, can also lead a writer down the writing rabbit hole. Don’t let your finishing the first draft of your book be you completing the only draft. You have to stay focused to cross that published finish line.

Believe in yourself, believe in your work. Don’t get stuck and then have to look back with regret. Now take a deep breath and get ready to move your manuscript forward. You still have a busy road to publishing to make your way on. Keep your focus and don’t fall down any rabbit holes.

If you are new to writing a book or self-publishing and want to follow along as I share what I’ve learned, either subscribe to receive my blog posts at www.jenettambradley.com or request to be added to my group on Facebook, JB’s Writers Studio where the links to the posts will be shared. The group will also be a place for members to ask questions and share information.
