Believing in yourself is important in your journey to achieve whatever health and self-care goals you set for yourself. Not believing, is in essence telling yourself, “I don’t trust you with my dreams,” which creates space for failure.

In order to bridge the gap between telling yourself you believe in yourself and actually believing in yourself, you have to set yourself up for small victories along the way so that you can build trust. In order to reach the small victories (milestones) you have to equip yourself with the tools to succeed which are:

  1. A set goal or vision (in writing)
  2. A mantra or mantras to motivate yourself when you feel like giving up
  3. A plan of attack to reach your goal (in writing)
  4. Forgiveness for the times you fail to act on your plan or don’t reach your milestones

Still not motivated to go for your health and self-care goals? Take a moment to connect to your reason for wanting to achieve them. For me I want to be here to fulfill God’s purpose for my life. I want to see my son grow up, and I want to be a good example for my son. I recently saw this meme below with a male lion and his child that read, “I thought about quitting but then I noticed who was watching.”

Connect to your reason for reaching your goal.

Failing because I gave myself an out is no longer an option for me and when you connect to your reasons, I’m sure it will no longer be an option for you.
